Could it be a delayed period or some kind of side effect of Jeanine's pills?

Hello, I have a question about Jeanine's birth control pills. The gynecologist told me to start taking it on the first day of menstruation, I have terribly painful periods and I didn't want to suffer again for 7 days and I took these pills 4 days before my planned period. About 15 pills I got spotting, and since Wednesday I've had a kind of menstruation, stomach pain just like on my period. Could it be a delayed menstruation or maybe some side effect of these pills?

It is difficult to give an unequivocal answer, but it is possible that this is the result of using the drug not on the first day of menstruation. When taking Jeanine tablets, bleeding should start in the interval between packs. It is then not menstruation, but "withdrawal bleeding". Sometimes, especially at the beginning, so-called mid-cycle bleeding (irregular bleeding) occurs. This is then classified as a side effect of the drug. If you are concerned about soreness and bleeding, I suggest you contact your gynecologist.
