Can tinnitus increase if I increase my Seronil dosage from 10 mg to 20 mg?

Can tinnitus increase when I increase the dose of Seronil from 10 mg to 20? I've had them for a few years now, they were so quiet that I didn't feel them at all, now I only have a whoosh. Should I reduce the dose or discontinue the medication to find out if tinnitus is really caused by a side effect of the drug?

Side effects can vary from person to person, but tinnitus is not listed as a direct side effect of fluoxetine.

Increasing the dose of the medicine can sometimes lead to new symptoms or worsening of existing ones. If you have noticed an increase in tinnitus after increasing your Seronil dose, it would be important to report this to your doctor. Your doctor can assess whether a link between an increase in your dose and tinnitus is likely.

As an outsider, I am not in a position to give you individual advice on the basis of a brief description. I encourage you to make an appointment with your doctor, who will adjust the treatment according to your current clinical condition. If you do not have the opportunity to consult your doctor, you can use the teleconsultation here:
