Can Trittico be used instead of Rudotel?

Both Rudotel and Trittico are preparations that require a prescription. The question of the interchangeable use of drugs can only be addressed by a specialist.

At the beginning of the year, we received information from Teva that Rudotel will no longer be supplied to the Polish market. Due to the protracted deadline for the transfer of production and the lack of confirmation of future deliveries from the new manufacturing site, Teva applied for a shortened period of validity of the marketing authorisation for Rudotel, which was approved by a decision of the URLP (Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products).

Rudotel was indicated for the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic anxiety, emotional tension and agitation. According to the summary of product characteristics:

"Not all anxiety, emotional tension and agitation require medication. They are often a symptom of mental illness and can be treated with other measures or by combating the underlying illness."

Trittico is indicated for the treatment of depressive disorders of various etiologies, including depression with anxiety.

To sum up, Trittico is also indicated for the treatment of anxiety disorders.
