Prostamnic is not a steroid drug. This medicine contains tamsulosin, an α1-adrenergic receptor antagonist. This substance reduces muscle tension so that the prostate gland does not press on the urethra. The consequence of the drug's action is the alleviation of symptoms such as frequent urination or retention of urine in the bladder.
