Good morning
I have been using Evra contraceptive patches for 2.5 years. The day I changed the patch was always Friday (afternoon). Last Friday I forgot to take off the patch (2nd patch) and I didn't take it off until Saturday afternoon. I didn't apply the 3rd patch until Sunday evening. My boyfriend and I have been having intercourse for the past 3 days. Today I noticed some bleeding. Is there a chance that there was an ignition? And how do I deal with the patches now? Should I take it off or leave it?

If more than 24 hours have elapsed or it is not known how long has passed since the patch came off, it is recommended to start a new 4-week cycle immediately. At this point, a new "Day 1" and "Patch Change Day" are set. An additional contraceptive method should be used for the next 7 days.
In this situation, there is a risk that the effectiveness of hormonal contraception will be reduced. If you have had sexual intercourse in the last 3 days, there is a possibility of getting pregnant, especially if there was no additional protection such as a condom.
The appearance of bleeding may be a symptom of a hormonal imbalance, withdrawal bleeding or the effect of embryo implantation. Detailed information in this regard can be provided by your gynaecologist on the basis of your test results and physical examination.
