Can I be pregnant if my pregnancy tests are negative and my period has shortened?

I had my period for 2 days and it ended. At first, it was the same as always, clots were visible. Can I be pregnant? The last intercourse took place 13 weeks ago. I did the test after 8 and all of them came out negative. After 8 weeks I was also at the gynecologist and he didn't see the baby. Is it possible that after 8 weeks the embryo would still not be visible? Lately, my ovaries have been hurting quite a bit.
