If I rubbed myself with paper on which there were chemicals while using the toilet, can the Levosert insert be damaged?

Hello, if using the toilet I rubbed myself with paper on which there could be cleaning chemicals (eg window cleaner), could it affect / damage the inserted intrauterine device "levosert"?

To @Magda:

This should not affect the effectiveness of the insole.

I'm sorry, I also drank Lipton tea with strawberry rhubarb flavor, only when I read the ingredients it turned out that in a small amount (because it is in front of the last place in the composition), there is licorice, I also ate toast from a new toaster that I didn't wash before, I just heated it up and rubbed it with oil and 2 times before the actual sandwiches I put bread and then threw it away.
Could the water consumed above, the tea with liquorice in the composition and the toast from the new toaster affect the effectiveness and operation of the hormonal IUD? Thank you, best regards!

I'm joining the question!
I also have a homronal IUD inserted, much earlier when I was still taking the tablets I washed them down with water in a hurry during work, it is possible that in this water there were accidentally one and two-component tablets. I can't say exactly how many, but I have trouble swallowing medication, so it's very likely about 3/4 of the mixed medications. Much later, when I had the liner on, I drank the same water while working, I just forgot to pour it out. My question is as follows: Could such long-dissolved tablets (several mixed types) make the IUD ineffective and ineffective? Is it necessary to take additional protection for a certain period of time until the protection returns?

Magda (Anonymous, 5.173.58.) 7 months ago

I had intercourse yesterday and now I'm worried about it, but I don't think I have any reason to worry and I shouldn't use emergency contraception because I'm wearing an IUD and despite all these situations I should be effective.

Magda (Anonymous, 5.173.58.) 7 months ago

Yes, thank you, and as for the question about underwear and the possibility of getting it dirty with hair removal cream? It also didn't damage the insole and I can rest assured?

Is there a need for additional security in my situation?
Please reply and I'll give it a break, I won't dig into the thread, thank you!

Magda (Anonymous, 188.146.112.) 7 months ago

I understand that it doesn't make a difference to the effectiveness of contraception, right? And if a small amount of hair removal cream fell on the underwear (the front of the panties) and then I put them on for the whole day, it wouldn't damage the liner either? Sorry for my panic:((

Magda (Anonymous, 188.146.112.) 7 months ago

If, in the worst case, I really consumed water with 3 different pills, the effectiveness of the IUD would disappear forever irreversibly, or would it be better to protect yourself additionally and after the 7th day the protection would return? How would you never drink hormone water again? I don't know what to do anymore because the IUD cost a bit A I don't want to take it out because of the fear of getting pregnant

Magda (Anonymous, 188.146.112.) 7 months ago

I don't know if I'm telling myself all these things with water because I'm terrified of getting pregnant, so I also have problems with intercourse with my partner:( I took pills, every day at a fixed time, but then I was telling myself that maybe one of them didn't end up in my stomach while drinking, later I decided that the IUD will dispel these doubts, because when it is put on properly, it gives a lot of protection, but my psyche is so-so She tells me that maybe something damaged her or I just drank that old water where I could probably have lost my pills when I was drinking, I can't cope with these fears, that's why I insinuate and invent more and more, but I'd rather ask a question and have a calm psyche than worry that I might get pregnant because the IUD is ineffective.

Magda (Anonymous, 188.146.112.) 7 months ago

It's not even possible that I would have taken 3 pills and I could drink them, but I prefer to have peace of mind that contraception is preserved even in such a situation.

Magda (Anonymous, 188.146.112.) 7 months ago

Agreeing with the gynecologist, if there were 2 different tablets, one of a two-component and the other of a one-component, and I accidentally drank such water, it would not interfere with the effect of the protection, because the IUD also works topically, but I don't know if there were not 3 tablets in there. And now I'm wondering, if drinking 2 won't interfere with the IUD, then 3 will too??

Magda (Anonymous, 188.146.112.) 7 months ago

When I was still taking the contraceptive pill before the IUD, it is possible that while sipping the medicine they fell into this bottle and I forgot to pour out the water, I doubt that such a situation would have happened, but I ask myself what if.. I understand that it may have been bad for your health, but did it also affect the effectiveness of the IUD? I'm panicking a lot, I didn't have any symptoms, only spotting, which is normal and didn't have to be caused by drinking this water.

To @Magda:

Do not drink water that has been opened (in the case of bottled) or poured for more than 24 hours, as microorganisms can grow in it. All the more reason to avoid drinking water in which the drugs have been dissolved for a long time (besides, why have they been dissolved in water?). I am not able to predict whether there have been any reactions in such water and whether drinking it is safe for health and the effectiveness of other medications used.

Magda (Anonymous, 188.147.9.) 7 months ago

This applies if I drink the above-mentioned water during the limited contraception period, and if I consume it at the time of full protection, will such water not affect the IUD in both cases and the contraception will be preserved? Thank you, that's my last question!

Magda (Anonymous, 188.147.9.) 7 months ago

Thank you very much!
I know I've already added a similar question, but now it differs in the dose of dissolved tablets What if I drank water in which 2,3 different contraceptive pills would have been dissolved for a long time, e.g. two biscaled pills and one single-ingredient pill (or vice versa) during incomplete contraception, can such a dose of pills in water harm the contraceptive effectiveness of the IUD, or does it have no effect on it and can only lead to side effects such as spotting?

To @Magda:

None of the situations described above affect the performance of the cylinder.

Magda (Anonymous, 188.147.9.) 7 months ago

I have one more concern about the hair removal cream, yesterday when applying the cream to the intimate area I started cleaning in the bathroom because I had to wait before it started to work anyway, could the body movement cause such a depilatory cream to get inside the vagina and damage the pad, thus reducing the effectiveness of contraception

Magda (Anonymous, 188.147.9.) 7 months ago

A Can swallowing a piece of dry skin from lipstick impaired with the liner?

Magda (Anonymous, 188.147.12.) 7 months ago

I have one more question, because I already know that if I probably drank water with a dissolved combined pill in the past, it didn't affect the effectiveness of the contraception, would it be the same if I drank the water mentioned above during the incomplete contraception? Will contraception also come back 7 days after taking the medicine?
Is contraception preserved at this point in both situations?

Magda (Anonymous, 188.147.12.) 7 months ago

Ok, I didn't find a mention of undercooked foods in the article, so they can't prolong the lack of contraception like paracetamol, I understand correctly?

Magda (Anonymous, 188.147.12.) 7 months ago

Thank you very much for resolving your doubts.
Food( even undercooked) and drinking (alcohol) have no effect on the IUD, only some medications can reduce the effectiveness?

Klaudia Ćwiąkała Pharmacist, Editor

To @Maga:

Yes, contraception is preserved.

Magda (Anonymous, 188.147.0.) 7 months ago

I'm just asking for an answer if the contraception in my situation is maintained?
Because there are so many answers in the previous thread that I don't know if this was exactly the question that was asked.

Magda (Anonymous, 5.173.34.) 7 months ago

So I understand that alcohol and eating these things during a week of incomplete protection could not prolong it, and I have no reason to worry?
Contraception is maintained 7 days after treatment

Magda (Anonymous, 176.98.121.) 7 months ago

Perhaps you will be able to answer my question, which has been bothering me for a long time:(
If I ate pizzas with undercooked ingredients (yeast and chicken) during the incomplete protection caused by taking paracetamol (reduced protection for 7 days) and drank alcohol after the treatment, could the period of incomplete protection be extended because of this? Doesn't it matter and after 7 days full protection came back anyway?

Tap water also does not damage the insert.

Magda (Anonymous, 188.147.13.) 7 months ago

Thank you for your reply! Drinking water straight from the tap will also not damage the insert in any way? I poured some water from the kettle, which turned out, but it was not prepared beforehand.

The described situation does not lead to damage to the Levosert intrauterine device.
