What to do if Zoloft is nauseated and dizzy?

My 16-year-old son got the drug Zoloft. It is after the second dose It feels very bad. He feels a lot of nausea especially when walking, dizziness, has a problem with eating. Should I consult a psychiatrist? Is this normal and how long it can persist

The most common side effect of Zoloft is nausea. Dizziness has also been reported with the use of the drug. Usually, these symptoms are transient with further treatment. Sertraline (the active substance in Zoloft) belongs to a group of medicines called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. When using them, side effects are most noticeable at the beginning of treatment, and the first effects of treatment are noticeable after a week or more from the start of taking the drug. If the described symptoms in your and your son's assessment pose a health risk and prevent normal functioning, you should report them to your doctor. Side effects are worth reporting. We wrote more about it here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane If contact with a doctor would be difficult, I enclose information about the possibility of using teleconsultation: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja
