Hello, A few years ago I used the hormonal drug Oekolp forte, yesterday the gynecologist recommended the use of 2-3 globules per week for a period of 3 months, due to the lowering of the cervix. I have concerns after reading the leaflet, and the side effects listed, among others - memory loss after the age of 65. Thank you in advance for your reply.

"HRT does not prevent memory loss. Some evidence suggests a higher risk of memory loss in women who start using HRT over the age of 65. A doctor should be consulted in this matter." The manufacturer states that women over 65 years of age who are just starting hormone replacement therapy may experience memory loss. This may be due to the fact that too late started therapy or the resulting hormonal changes have already caused irreversible damage to the body, or simply such a woman is examined more often and earlier memory loss was detected (compared to women who are not under constant medical supervision). This does not mean, however, that women using Oekolp Forte may experience memory loss in the future. The risk of possible side effects is much lower when used topically compared to oral use. When using Oekolp Forte you may feel, m.in. swelling and increased breast tenderness, slight vaginal bleeding, increased vaginal discharge, nausea, fluid retention in the tissues, usually manifested in the form of swelling of the ankles or feet, local irritation or itching, flu-like symptoms. In most patients, these symptoms will disappear after the first few weeks of treatment. These symptoms may appear, but do not occur in every patient using the drug.
