Good morning, I received a recommendation from my gynecologist to use Albothyl. At the same time, I use Polaring contraception. The doctor did not mention anything about the interactions of these drugs, and my doubt arose when I read in the leaflet albothyl not to use it simultaneously with other vaginal drugs. Is it safe to use Albothyl at the same time as Polaring and does it not reduce the effectiveness of contraception?

Albothyl should not be used with other vaginal agents, but we are talking about globules and vaginal tablets. Albothyl will not reduce the effectiveness of contraception of the Polaring vaginal disc - you have no reason to worry. The globules contain polycrezulen used for the topical treatment of bacterial vaginosis. The substance has a local effect, does not penetrate (or in very small amounts) into the systemic circulation. There is no reason to worry, you can use both preparations together without fear.
