Is the disappearance of the period a contraindication to the insertion of an intrauterine device?

Good morning. I took the Depo provera injection twice. My period disappeared and did not come back even though a few months had passed since the end of the injection. Can I put an IUD even though my period has expired?

No, the disappearance of the period is not a contraindication to the insertion of an intrauterine device. Menstruation should appear after about 4-4.5 months after the injection. The decision to insert an intrauterine device should be consulted with a gynaecologist who will interview and assess the individual situation of the patient. For example, if the cause of the disappearance of the period is menopause, and the patient is already over 50 years old, the doctor may recommend other forms of contraception. I enclose materials that may be interesting and information about the possibility of using teleconsultation: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/antykoncepcja-hormonalna

User questions and answers that provide feedback about products are not verified for the purchase or use of the product. Companies often order anonymous comments to form positive opinions about their products, or negative ones about competitors. Therefore, be guided by the information in the pharmacists' responses in the first place.
