Combined contraceptive pills, or combined oral contraceptives, are one of the most effective methods of preventing pregnancy. They contain in their composition a combination of estrogen with progestin - a substance that mimics the action of natural progesterone. In addition to contraceptive effects, two-component pills are used to treat other ailments, m.in acne or endometriosis.
