Good morning, I have been treated pharmacologically for depression with anxiety for 3 months. Earlier, I also had depressive episodes and each time escitalopram 10mg brought relief, which I supplemented with Wellbutrin 150mg to neutralize side effects (lack of energy + decrease in libido). Previously, between the inclusion of escitalopram and the inclusion of buprion I waited 1.5 months, this time the doctor said that I will not be anything if I start both at the same time and unfortunately but it intensified my fears and aggravated this condition. The doctor suggested discontinuing buprion and increasing escitalopram to 15mg, which in turn caused me symptoms of serotonin syndrome (increase in tension, total loss of emotions, the need to tighten muscles, diarrhea and flu-like symptoms) which did not pass even after 2 weeks. As such, I reduced the dose back to 10mg and my condition began to improve slowly overnight. Due to my impatience and slowness of this process, I began to gradually increase the dose first to 12.5mg to get again to 15mg and unfortunately again I got the same symptoms of serotonin syndrome (I will add that I do not take any other supplement drugs that work on serotonin, even cold or cough medicines). Is returning to a dose of 10mg and arming yourself with ultra patience a good solution or changing the drug to another, eg SNRI? At the same time, I have been in intensive psychotherapy for almost half a year. I will not make any decision without consulting a doctor but I would like to consult here in the forum. Thank you Peter
