Delay in sticking a new contraceptive patch - what about effectiveness?

I have been using patches for half a year. On Thursday around 12.00 I should have stuck the first patch from the new package, but I forgot about it and stuck it only on Friday around 11.00. Should I stick more patches now on Fridays?

Yes, you should stick more patches on Fridays. However, an additional method of contraception (e.g. a condom) should be used for the first 7 days of use as the effectiveness of contraception may have been reduced. At the same time, if sexual intercourse occurs during a prolonged break of more than 7 days in the use of the transdermal patch, the possibility of pregnancy should be considered.
