Do I need to increase the dose of escitalopram?

Good morning, I was prescribed escitalopram at a dose of 5 mg for the first two weeks of treatment then I have to increase the dose to 10 mg. I take the drug on the 11th day and it feels good. Very quickly I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder with seizures. I had two panic attacks. Is it necessary to increase the dose of the drug if I feel well?

Escitalopram is a medicine used as prescribed by your doctor. When taking the preparation, the dosage instructions given by him should be followed. If you have any doubts about the dose and the need to increase it, discuss it with your doctor. The dosage regimen used is recommended for the treatment of anxiety. For the treatment of anxiety, the dose of escitalopram is gradually increased from 5mg to 10mg or 20mg. The maximum effectiveness of treatment is achieved after 3 months of regular use of escitalopram, when it is best to assess the dose taken and the effectiveness of treatment. I enclose information about the possibility of using teleconsultation, if the need arises: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja We wrote more about anxiety disorders here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/zaburzenia-lekowe-nerwica
