When should I remove the first Evra patch and how long should I use the extra protection if I did not stick it on the first day of the cycle?

I took a month's break from using Evra patches. I got my period on Tuesday, and I put on the patch only today, that is, on Friday. When should I take it off and how much should I use additional protection?

The Evra patch should be removed and changed to a new one after 7 days - on the following Friday. Friday will now be the "day of the patch change". The additional protection should be used for the first 7 days after the first patch in the cycle.
