Is 1 tablet of Amotaks Dis 500 mg twice a day not too high a dose for a 14-kg child?

Good morning. Son of 2.5 years old . I got for a week antib.amoksiklav, after a week a new infection, the doctor gives amotaks dis 500 mg and tells me to dissolve the tablet in 5 ml of water, administer every 12 hours. Isn't it too much. ? I'm a little afraid and if it's not the same antibiotic . Previously, there were oxhills, now the throat.

The dose of Amotaks Dis 500 mg (one tablet twice a day) is correct for a child weighing 14 kg. In the treatment of bacterial pharyngitis, 40 to 90 mg of antibiotic / kg body weight per day can be administered in divided doses, in this case from 560 to 1260 mg per day depending on the severity of the infection and the patient's condition (the son takes a dose of 1000 mg per day, which falls within this range). Amotaks Dis contains the same antibiotic as Amoksiklav, but if the doctor knew that this drug had already been used before, then there were probably no contraindications to the administration of the same drug in the current infection.
