The use of metformin contained in Siofor is not contraindicated in hypertensive patients. The results of scientific studies on the effect of metformin on blood pressure values are inconclusive. According to some authors, taking metformin may be associated with a decrease in blood pressure. According to other authors, this drug does not affect this parameter in a significant way. Any changes in blood pressure during metformin therapy should be reported to the physician, who may decide if necessary to change the pharmacotherapy of hypertension.
