The drug Saxenda does not interact with the drugs given, so there are no contraindications to its inclusion in the course of treatment. Saxenda contains the substance liraglutide. This substance works by controlling appetite, leading consequently to weight loss. Studies confirm the effectiveness of liraglutide in weight reduction compared to the placebo group. The experiment covering 9 countries involved 846 people over the age of 18. An average weight loss of 5% or more occurred in 54.3% of patients who took liraglutide 3 mg and 40.4% in those taking 1.8 mg. Importantly, despite the use of the drug, a low-calorie diet and physical effort are also crucial. I enclose a link to an article where you can find more information about this chemical: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/substancje/liraglutide. I note that the dose of the drug is increased gradually, which usually prevents disorders on the part of the gastrointestinal tract. Nausea is one of the most common side effects that occurs in about 10 - 20% of patients. Less often, diarrhea or vomiting is observed, although the drug can also lead to dyspepsia, gastritis or gastroesophageal reflux. So if the symptoms of reflux worsen, it is worth remembering that it may be caused by Saxenda and in such a situation it is the basis for reducing the dose or discontinuing the drug. In preclinical studies, there were suspicions of the possibility of increasing the risk of medullary thyroid cancer. They have not been confirmed in subsequent studies, hence thyroid diseases are not a contraindication to the use of the drug, although caution is recommended here. I attach a link through which you can check the availability of Saxenda in pharmacies and even book it at a specific facility: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/88452/saxenda-iniekcja/apteki.
