Does amoxicillin affect the effectiveness of antkyonceptive tablets?

Good morning, I use microgynon21, after taking today's tablet on the blister there are 3 tablets left. Today the doctor prescribed me Amotax, should I take a break for bleeding? If the last tablet will be taken in the middle of antibiotic therapy, will I be able to have sex without protection after the so-called period and the start of a new blister? Is it better not to take a break for bleeding and wait 7 days after antibiotic therapy?

Amoxicillin contained in Amotaks does not affect the effectiveness of contraceptive pills. You can use the contraceptive pill according to your schedule. There is no need for an additional method of contraception when using Amotaks. A review of 29 studies on the effects of antibiotics on antibiotic efficacy found that commonly used broad-spectrum antibiotics, which include amoxicillin, do not reduce the effectiveness of contraception. So far, the only group of antibiotics that has been proven to have a negative effect on the effectiveness of hormonal contraception have been antibiotics from the rifamycin group used to treat adenoma, e.g. rifampicin. This position is shared by the m.in who (World Health Organization) and the US government agency CDC.
