When to start using a new vaginal disc?

I have been using discs for 3 years, recently I forgot to buy a new prescription and after a standard 7-day break I did not apply the disc. It's been 2 weeks since I should have done it. When in this situation to put the puck back on, or at any time now or wait for the period and apply as in the first time, i.e. on the first day of menstruation?

If the disc is inserted in the current cycle, irregular spotting and bleeding may occur associated with restarting hormonal contraception. If you do not care about the contraceptive effectiveness of the drug, you can put on a disc at any time.

And if I do not care about the effective operation of contraception only so that menstruation does not appear now at an inconvenient time for me? Can I apply the disc now for a period of 3 weeks and then pull it out for a week so that the period appears?

In order to ensure full contraceptive effectiveness of the vaginal disc, it should be used on the 1st day of the new cycle. We wrote more about how to use contraception correctly in the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-prawidlowo-stosowac-antykoncepcje
