I wanted to ask if it was normal for a doctor to assign Bactrim as the first drug without any tests if there was itching when urinating and a feeling of a few drops in the penis? I have concerns about the large number of common complications after taking this "antibiotic" and it seemed suspicious to me as for the first drug + there is a warning for allergy sufferers and asthmatics (I have allergy and asthma controlled from time to time by a pulmonologist [I take Montelukast, Turbuhaler and Contrahist])

In the case of urinary tract infections, first-line drugs are fluoroquinolones and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, i.e. Bactrim. So it is not surprising that the doctor decided to choose such a treatment. Each drug may or may not cause a number of side effects, and about why you should not be afraid and what to do in the event of their occurrence, we wrote here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-bac-sie-dzialan-niepozadanych-lekow
