In Poland, Pradaxa is available in capsules in doses (increasingly) of 75 mg, 110 mg and 150 mg. The dose of 300 mg of Pradaxa is twice as high as 150 mg. If the doctor recommends that the dose of the drug be 300 mg, then 1 capsule of 150 mg twice a day is taken. Dabigatran (the active ingredient in Pradaxa) is a thrombin inhibitor - it prevents the formation of blood clots by preventing fibrinogen from turning into fibrin. The strength of the anticoagulant effect is proportional to the plasma concentration of dabigatran.
