Chlorhexamed works locally, i.e. in the area where it was applied, used in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, it should not be absorbed into the bloodstream and have a systemic effect. Topical use of Chlorhexamed does not affect the effectiveness of hormonal contraception.
