Will Wellbutrin XR help with generalized anxiety?
Hello. I suffer from generalized anxiety syndrome with very strong physical symptoms. From 8 days I take Wellbutrin 150 mg. I have some peace in my head, something is happening, but I'm worried about whether this drug will cope with these physical symptoms? Because of them, it is very difficult for me to function. This is my fifth set of medications. I am afraid that the doctor will return to neuroleptics that "run me over" hormonally

Wellbutrin XR contains bupropion, which blocks the reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine and has antidepressant effects. There are some reports (e.g. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18362870/) that it may also be effective in the treatment of generalized anxiety, but they still need to be confirmed and therefore it is the so-called "off label" application.
