Can I stop taking a PPI for a wedding to drink alcohol?

Hi, I have a question whether after the treatment of helicobacter bacteria with antibiotics combined with ipp, after a 10-day course I have to take ipp longer, or can I take a break in taking ipp, e.g. for a few days? I read that when taking ipp you can not drink alcohol, and it so happens that I have a wedding and I would like to have a drink. I will add that the wedding is 10 days after the last dose of antibiotic.

PpI does not have a direct interaction with alcohol: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/38182/ipp-20-tabletki/ulotka/133335 However, alcohol consumption during therapy is not recommended. This is explained in detail in the opinion (Anesteloc is the equivalent of the drug PPI): https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/20764/anesteloc-czy-anesteloc-40-mg-wchodzi-w-interakcje-z-alkoholem I encourage you to consult your doctor. Based on your medical history, the doctor should determine whether alcohol consumption and in what amount is safe for you. Without consulting your doctor, do not stop your treatment with PPIs. We wrote more about whether it is possible to combine drugs with alcohol in the article: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/czy-mozna-laczyc-leki-z-alkoholem
