Good morning. I have a dilemma about the drugs Drovelis and Elin. I got them for the same disease but from two other doctors. Does Drovelis contain more hormones than Elin? Drovelis is more likely to have blood clots? I will also mention that I am being treated for hypertension and I have congenital thrombocytopenia.

Drovelis and Elin are not pharmaceutical counterparts - they contain different hormones and in different doses, so it is difficult to compare them in answer to the question of which drug contains "more" of them, individual compounds differ in strength, which is reflected in the dose due. This means that the number of milligrams of estrogen and progesterone in both preparations cannot be compared directly to each other. However, both preparations are two-component drugs. 1 tablet of Elin contains 0.035 mg ethinyl estradiol and 0.25 mg norgestimate. This preparation is taken in a 21+7 regimen. 1 tablet of Drovelis contains 3 mg of drospirenone and 14.2 mg of estetrol. Drovelis is used in the 24+4 scheme. Estetrol is credited with a favorable profile when it comes to effects on metabolism and coagulation, however, as with other products containing estrogens, the drug contains a warning about the increased risk of thromboembolic complications: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/67655/drovelis-czym-drovelis-rozni-sie-od-innych-dotychczas-stosowanych-tabletek https://www.gdziepolek.pl/opinie-i-pytania/66521/drovelis-czy-drovelis-zwieksza-ryzyko-zakrzepicy-u-39-letniej-kobiety-na-wozku Information about hypertension and thrombocytopenia should be presented to the gynecologist during the interview - this information is important for him at the stage of choosing the most suitable product.
