Hello, Does the drug acard somehow prevent venous thrombosis? I know that heparin is usually used for venous thrombosis, but if acard causes less clumping of platelets, then at least to some extent prevents venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism? Best regards

Acetylsalicylic acid (a component of Acard) does not protect against venous thrombosis, it is used in the secondary prevention of blood clots in the arteries. Arterial thrombosis consists of abnormal blood clotting in the arteries, usually this is the result of atherosclerotic plaques present there. Venous thrombosis can be caused by long-term immobilization, lack of physical activity or the use of contraceptive drugs. Currently, 3 methods of protection against venous thrombosis are known: 1. Administration of drugs that reduce blood clotting - the so-called anticoagulants, e.g. acenocoumarol, warfarin or small-molecule heparins. These drugs are available only on prescription. More information here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/przewodnik-po-lekach-przeciwzakrzepowych 2. Compression treatment "Using properly selected knee socks and compression stockings or elastic bandages (in the case of prophylaxis: knee socks, stockings or prophylactic tights, with less pressure). A variation of this method is the use of the so-called intermittent pneumatic compression (PUP). It is very important that compression materials are used correctly and well chosen" More here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/kategorie/zylaki 3. Regular physical activity As an adjunct, you can use, for example, drugs based on ruscus or diosmin, which can be bought at the pharmacy without a prescription. I attach links to websites where you can compare the prices of this type of products in online pharmacies and make an order with collection at the pharmacy or home delivery. e.g. https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/23815/diosminex-max-tabletki-powlekane/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/20637/cyclo-3-fort-kapsulki/apteki https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/2613/aescin-tabletki-powlekane/apteki

Acetylsalicylic acid (a component of Acard) does not protect against venous thrombosis, it is used in the secondary prevention of blood clots in the arteries. Acard - despite being an over-the-counter drug - should be used by a strictly limited group of patients in whom its use is associated with documented benefits.
