Is spotting when using the Ginoring disc normal? What is caused by?

Hi I use the ginoring disc for 8 months so far everything was ok although menstruation has shortened from 7 days to 5, but just for two days or from Monday I noticed dark brown spotting and light pink disc I have to take out on Thursday what can be caused by this spotting if it has never occurred before?
