The effect of Dicortineff drops after the expiration date may be changed - they may lose their effectiveness or irritate the eye. The risk of side effects is also increased. Moreover, in the drops after the expiration of the shelf life from the opening, pathogenic microorganisms can multiply, so their application can lead to the development of infection. According to the dicortineff leaflet - after the first opening of the bottle, the drug should not be used for more than 4 weeks. After this time, the manufacturer does not ensure the effectiveness and safety of the preparation. For @Aga122: Accidentally letting 3 drops of Dicortineff into the mouth does not pose a health risk. It can lead, for example, to short-term abdominal pain, nausea or diarrhea - but this is unlikely. In my opinion, there is no cause for concern. Please watch the child. If anything bothers you, you should consult your pediatrician.

And I have a question. If you do not want to let 3 drops of this drug into the mouth of a 3-year-old???

According to the information contained in the summary of product characteristics of the drug Dicortineff - the shelf life of the drops is 2 years, after the first opening of the bottle, the drug should not be used for more than 4 weeks. After this period of fitness for use provided by the manufacturer, the effectiveness and safety of the preparation decreases. It is therefore not recommended to use it 4 weeks after opening.

User questions and answers that provide feedback about products are not verified for the purchase or use of the product. Companies often order anonymous comments to form positive opinions about their products, or negative ones about competitors. Therefore, be guided by the information in the pharmacists' responses in the first place.
