Does the administration of DXM in the cortisol test affect the effectiveness of Atywia Daily contraception?

Tomorrow I'm going to have a blood test for cortisol and today I have to take a 1 mg DXM tablet at 11 p.m. And my question is whether, taking the contraceptive pill, Atywia Daily, do I have to take extra protection for that period or a few days after that?

W badaniu ONDST (nocny test hamowania deksametazonem), u pacjentek stosujących estrogeny, można uzyskać wyniki fałszywie dodatnie. Idealnie zaleca się wykonanie takiego badania po 4-6 tygodniach od odstawienia antykoncepcji. Oczywiście, lekarz może zalecić inne postępowanie, zgodne z jego wiedzą i doświadczeniem klinicznym.

Natomiast ze względu na to, że deksametazon jest umiarkowanym aktywatorem enzymów wątrobowych, nie wyklucza się możliwości osłabienia skuteczności antykoncepcji. Zaleca się zastosowanie dodatkowej metody antykoncepcji podczas podawania deksametazonu oraz dobę po zakończeniu podawania leku (ok. 21 h).
