I suffer from anxiety neurosis, I stopped taking Xanax. Symptoms have returned, can I use Xanax temporarily?

Hello, I am 37 years old and I suffer from anxiety neurosis / generalized anxiety , intrusive thoughts. I've been going to psychotherapy for about a month and a half. Unable to function normally in life and at work, wanting to improve my condition, I also went to a psychiatrist. For about 22 days I have been taking Elicea 10 mg in the morning and xanax 0.5 mg temporarily when I can not fall asleep, after about a week I noticed an improvement, after about 2 weeks I began to try to discontinue xanax completely. It was pretty good. Unfortunately, for a few days my anxiety neurosis has returned. It seems to me that this is related to the exacerbation of a serious illness of a person very close to me (visits to the OR, constant examinations, medical consultations, hospital). Can I return to xanax on an ad hoc basis? Best regards!
