Escitalopram, składnik aktywny leku Escitil, może powodować różne działania niepożądane, także te związane z zaburzeniami skóry (np. pokrzywka, wysypka, rumie), jednak na liście działań niepożądanych nie ma zmian trądzikowych. Dlatego trudno wnioskować, że akurat Escitil przyczynił się do nasilenia/pojawienia się trądziku.

Działania niepożądane preparatu można również zgłosić do Urzędu Rejestracji Produktów Leczniczych lub Podmiotu odpowiedzialnego za dany lek.
