Does a long-term, painless skin lesion in the area require medical consultation?

Good morning. I have an embarrassing problem, namely a few years ago I noticed something between my buttocks that looks like a scar. It begins at the place of joining the buttocks and ends at the anus. I don't know if I've always had it. I will add that it does not hurt, there are no lumps on it and nothing oozes from it. It is simply something on a reasonably reddened scar, usually after bathing the color gains intensity. My question is, could it be something dangerous and should I go to the doctor or is it enough to apply a cream?
