Samo stosowanie leków zmniejszających produkcję soków trawiennych (IPP) nie prowadzi do obniżenia apetytu. Natomiast, długotrwałe stosowanie leków z grupy IPP może prowadzić do niedoborów ważnych pierwiastków, jak magnez, cynk, co objawiać się może, m.in. jako brak apetytu.
