I've written about the IUD before, I've had it for over a year. Periods are great, I basically don't have to worry about leaking anymore. From month to month, actually less spotting than the actual period, fibroids do not grow, the same all the time, although I am before the visit to the gynecologist. I lost almost 10 kg, but that's because I changed my eating style. Also my first post was basically negative about the IUD, now after more than a year I'm satisfied. You have to give it a chance😉
I'm 38 years old, I've never given birth. I decided to take Mirena out of convenience, i.e. no periods, and I didn't want to remember to take pills every day. I've had it for 7 weeks now and I can't wait to take it out. With bleeding, maybe I had peace for 7 days during those 7 weeks. I am currently treating mycosis and herpes at the same time. I really regret that I put it on. In addition, I've been sick all the time since these 7 weeks. Alternately a sore throat with a runny nose. In general, immunity has tragically decreased.
I have had the IUD since November 2025. So far I've noticed that I have scanty periods, my breasts have grown and for a few days now (admittedly I'm experiencing a lot of stress) I've noticed that I have increased sweating, which makes me cold from the inside and despite wearing a bra, T-shirt and sweatshirt, I have cold breasts. In December, I went to the doctor, where I had an IUD procedure due to very strong breast pain, for which she prescribed Mastodynon. Have any of you had that with you? Did your breasts hurt very much and had a feeling of cold and sweating?
Hello, I have the IUD for 5 years and it's great, nothing happens in January, I'm going to replace a new one. Dorota 40 years old
I had the IUD inserted as an antidote to adenomyosis. I curse the day I agreed to it. Menstruation for over a year is terribly abundant. Menstrual pain unbearable.... Today I pulled out this system and I'm going to.Swietowqc this day. Nevermore....
I'm 42 years old, I put on the IUD 5 months ago, my observations: I had horrible, heavy periods, fibroids. After the IUD, the period is scanty, there is no failure, although for these first 3 months I was constantly driving with spotting, as if the period was non-stop. Sex, however, was different, I had more sensations before the IUD. My hair fell out massively, plus 10 kg plus, we'll see how it goes, but I'm not impressed. I think that every woman will have different ailments. MAYBE HORMONAL CONTRACEPTION IS NOT FOR ME.
When I read posts about how it hurts, I have the impression that people who have not experienced really painful menstruation are writing it. (I didn't give birth)
The procedure itself – literally a moment of a stronger prick and that's it. In return, I have a chance for years of peace and great relief – and maybe even completely get rid of the pain that accompanied me every month during my nightmare periods. For me, it was definitely worth it.
For now, I can't write more. Spotting occurs, but the doctor warned that it can last up to three months.
I have the cartridge over 6 months. I'm 36 years old: The assumption itself is quite stressful, but it's more my attitude than the actual pain.
For 3 months, constant spotting and weak menstruation, migraine headaches. Cramps like menstruation.
But then everything calmed down and I am very happy. I don't have menstruation, which was a chore for me, no sweating attacks, no mood swings. I didn't gain weight.
I really recommend it, but every body can react differently. You definitely have to give yourself time.
The mirena IUD is a very good choice for fibroids that cause heavy menstruation. During the use of mirena, menstruation is scanty or stops completely.I recommend it myself for four years
I'm 38 years old and Mirena has been with me for 4 years. After putting the pad on, I only had spotting for about the first two months (my period was on the calendar), where a panty liner was enough.
I haven't had my period for 4 years at all! However, I feel when I should have my period. My breasts become tender, I crave sweets and I have gentle contractions in the lower abdomen.
However, the biggest downside is that I became very nervous after it. Nothing has happened in my life that could make me get so nervous, angry or lamenting for any reason - the emotional lability of a preschooler.
There are changes in the breasts that were not there before the IUD, the uterus is ok.
Next year I'm taking off the cartridge, I'm tired of getting annoyed with everything around me... I talked about it with a gynecologist, he says that there is a negligible dose of the hormone and it cannot affect my mental state, but I dug around on the forums and it turns out that a large part of Mirena owners have the same mental problem. I'm afraid that after taking it out, I won't be able to return to the mental stability from before.
I did the tests including hormones - recommended by the gynaecologist and everything is perfect. The psychiatrist prescribed me silencing pills. In retrospect, however, the spiral has more pros than cons. A pain-free life and readiness for any activity without counting when your period is a huge luxury... However, I want to see if my mental state will improve and the tumors on my breasts will shrink and I will give myself a year or two without hormones... Greetings
Hey
The insole was inserted in the second half of January.
All this time until now, practically every day spotting, there is also a period of medium abundance every month, lasting about two weeks.
Today I was completely resigned to the appointment, because how much can you stain 😕
The doctor said that everything was ok. He prescribed a gel to be administered through the skin on the days when I would stain. He gives her one last chance...
If the gel does not help and does not normalize, it will be forced to remove it.
Hello, I do not recommend this liner Mirena, I gained 15kg massacre
Hello, I have been using moraine for 16 years, so this is my third insert. I am super happy, heavy and painful menstruation has stopped, I have not gained weight, I have not lost hair or it has not lowered my libido. I'm in my 50s and menopausal ailments are minor. If you are thinking about the assumption, I think that my opinion will dispel some women's doubts. Of course, you have to take into account that everyone has an individual body. Thank you to my gynecologist for convincing me to mirena, which freed me from pain and monthly visits to the hospital because of painful and heavy menstruation. It's worth a try.
Have any of you had hair loss after myrena?

To @Kohorta:
Spotting or bleeding between periods after intrauterine device (IUD) insertion is quite common, especially in the first three to six months. Many women experience abnormal bleeding during this period, which usually subsides over time. The doctor correctly assessed the situation, saying that it could take up to six months. However, if the spotting continues to be worrying or too profuse, it is worth consulting a doctor to rule out other causes.
Hello, I have had the IUD for a short time and I have been staining all the time, I mean for two months now, the doctor says that it can take🙈 up to six months, is there any coniette here that had the same thing? Am I the only exception
The insole is inserted due to heavy periods that prevent functioning. The insertion itself - I didn't feel anything, but it was put on during bleeding. It is possible that I have a different pain threshold, because I also went through hysteroscopy without anesthesia without pain. For the first 2 months I had light bleeding every day, but at least I was able to function, not what I did during my period. In the third month, everything began to stabilize. Daytime bleeding stopped, there was a slight but longer period - for me to survive. Half a year after its foundation, only one period appeared. As for me, it's a revelation. I can finally live a normal life. I have no side effects. From my point of view, you have to give yourself half a year to assess whether the IUD is for you.
I've been using the insole for exactly 5 years. This is my first one and I admit that I was also afraid to put it on, but my friends around praise it so I went into it😁I'm taking it out soon and I can't imagine not having another one. I tolerated it very well, no unpleasant symptoms. Of course, like probably most of them, I bled during my period. I was worried that it would stay that way, but after less than a year, when he took it off with his hand, the bleeding stopped.
So I personally recommend it.
A woman aged 50 😊😆

To @Violka:
The Mirena IUD can sometimes fall out, which is often not noticed by patients.
Symptoms of prolapse may include bleeding or pain in the lower abdomen, as well as a change in the length of the nylon cord, which should be felt. If it is absent or changes in length, it is recommended to urgently contact a doctor to assess the situation.
Hello, has anyone lost the Mirena cylinder? And how to recognize it? I had the liner for about 5 months, then I went for a check-up, it turned out that it was not there, flour, I have no idea when it fell out, can you demand a second liner at no cost?
Hi. The Mirena IUD was recommended to me by a friend. She put it on because I wanted to have peace with my period and not be afraid that I would get pregnant. The setting itself was a bit painful and uncomfortable. I've had it since March 3, 2024 and I have my period all the time. It lasts a long time and is quite abundant. I went to the doctor. He told me that it was normal, that it could take up to six months. And universal grasses last longer. I don't know if it's normal or if any of you had it too, but I'm worried about it and I don't feel good about it.
I've had it for a year. Putting it on was painful due to the fact that I did not give birth, and even during my period I have a small dilation of the cervix. I'm not particularly sensitive (I've never had a pap smear test in my life), but without ketonal I would probably give up in the middle of the procedure. Some women have a problem with blood pressure after surgery, I don't have it at all. The doctor warned that I could feel strong contractions for the first day and I should take a nose to calm everything down. There was a lot of truth in it, I was not able to function. After two days, my body accepted the IUD, up to two weeks I felt slight, painful slightly different than from menstruation and I had spotting. After that time, everything calmed down and I haven't had a period at all since then. The comfort of life itself improved dramatically compared to oral contraception - no mood swings, no breast tenderness, no water collection and so on, as if I wasn't taking anything. I do check-ups every six months. Would I assume again, bearing in mind this pain from the beginning? Rather yes. It is worth remembering that the reaction to the IUD is individual, just like to pills and it can be different, but it is a foreign body and with a small dose of the hormone, but if you take it, it is great.
I don't recommend it, I was almost killed by this crap, I got a headache and then problems with blood pressure until 180/110 I thought that I was gone, the doctors don't talk about it, after removing this crap I have heart palpitations, dizziness and problems with walking.

Up to @Ada83:
Yes, the Mirena IUD inserted on the second day of your period starts working as a contraceptive device immediately after insertion. This is because there is no ovulation naturally during this time, and the IUD works both by releasing progestogen hormone and mechanically, preventing fertilization and implantation of the egg. To be sure, you can use an additional protection method for the first 7 days, although it is not necessary according to standard recommendations. If you have any doubts, I encourage you to consult your attending physician.
Does the Mirena IUD inserted on the second day of my period work contraception immediately after insertion?

To @Kk48:
Bleeding after insertion of an intrauterine device (both copper and hormonal) for a few weeks is quite common, especially in the initial period. The body needs time to adapt to it. In some women, bleeding may last longer, even several weeks or months, before the cycle stabilizes.
The doctor recommended Exacyl, an anti-haemorrhagic drug that aims to reduce bleeding. This is a standard procedure when the bleeding is more intense or lasts longer. However, if the bleeding does not stop after a long time or other worrying symptoms appear, it is worth consulting a doctor again.
If you need more personalized advice, you can use teleconsultations here:
I've had an IUD on for three weeks and I'm bleeding all the time. I was at the doctor's and he told me to take exacyl until the bleeding stops.cxy anyone had the same ?
Hello, I have had the IUD on for over a week, I feel very good, the only thing that puzzles me is whether it is possible to have a skin rash as a reaction to the IUD? Did any of the Osn have such a symptom or am I exaggerating a bit and the IUD is not to blame
Hello. I've had mirena for half a year. Spotting alternately with my period, a few days break and again.. over and over again. The doctor assures after half a year will pass.. a question for you, has any of you passed? I'm already exhausted.
Hello.I have Mirena on for 5 years. Today I should have it removed. At the doctor's I found out that I can still leave the coil on for another 3 years if I want to protect myself from getting pregnant. There are no side effects to keep it for another 3 years large. If I want, I can decide to take it out at any time. In general, I'm very happy, minus I gained about 5 kg for the last 5 years.
Yes, I do. Like any hormonal IUD, it has its pros and cons. A big plus, you don't have to remember about pills. My period is also well scanty, but it is there. I had vaginal discharge like that, but apparently they are supposed to go away with time.
I have a second Mirena cartridge on, currently I'm over 50. The process of putting it on was not painful, but rather uncomfortable. I had an IUD inserted because of excessive bleeding, which caused me to be anaemic for over two years. After stopping iron, the anemia came back, so I decided to put on an IUD after talking to a friend, who said that thanks to the IUD there is no menstruation. In fact, menstruation disappeared after a few months after insertion. The pad does not affect my well-being, there is no pain or mood swings, I feel as I did before I put it on, and the plus is that it protects against pregnancy, I do not have menstruation, I no longer have anemia. It is very convenient compared to pills, you don't have to remember to take a pill, a visit to the doctor once a year is only advantages.
Every woman certainly reacts and feels pain differently, but I felt a lot of pain during the application, after getting off the chair I automatically felt weak and fainted. The doctor measured my blood pressure, which was tragically low, and I had to be carried to the car. The contractions were so huge that I cried out of pain, only after strong medication after 2 hours the pain decreased. I have the IUD itself too short to assess its effect, but I warn against this procedure without the use of anesthesia. I emphasize that these are just my feelings.
Hello, I've had it on for half a year and for half a year I was bleeding the day before, secondly, my belly got like a balloon and I have to drink herbal teas because it hurts, cramps and it must be a nosp, I'm of the opinion that this pad has side effects and it's not a good method on the market, I'm going to take it out because I'm getting tired, it's a waste of money, but life is more important, greetings
I'm 43 years old and I've had Mirena for 15 years. The first one over 7 years and now the second one is the same. I'll be wearing the third one any minute. I haven't had any bleeding for 16 years, not even spotting. No side effects. I feel great and enjoy sex without worrying about pregnancy. For me, inserting and removing the insole was not painful, but it was uncomfortable. I felt only a slight sting and it resembled taking material for cytology. From my point of view, Merena is great, I also have a few friends of a similar age who use it and have similar feelings
Personally, I recommend this my 4th insert. I'm 42 years old, I stopped using contraception at the age of 41, I thought it was enough, but I couldn't stand it, my body started to rebel, menstrual pains out of this world, dizziness, etc. I've had the pad for 1.5 weeks now and I hope it won't be the last if it's going to keep me in great shape. Greetings Kasia

To @Angel:
The assessment of the legitimacy of the use of an IUD in your case can only be made by a gynaecologist. If it is not possible to visit the site, I encourage you to take advantage of the teleconsultation, e.g. via the Gdziepolek.pl portal:
https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja/z-ginekologiem
I encourage you to read our summary about IUDs:
Dear me, I also have.fibroids.the doctor was incredibly surprised that with hypertension and meats the gynecologist prescribed me oral contraception.he recommended me an IUD that is supposed to treat my uterus on demand, prevent pregnancy.it will lower my blood pressure, etc.I don't know what to do
I've already put on the third one at intervals of 5 years, no menstruation, no stomach pain, no problems, and what a comfort
Hello, I put an IUD on because she has fibroids for 43 years, so the doctors suggested in order to reduce heavy menstruation. After 8 months, with the approaching metrusion, I got such strong pains as for childbirth with heavy bleeding, I thought that I would have to go to the hospital, it took up to 2-3 hours, the pain subsided. I visited the doctor to find out what could be the cause, because I was still scratching, but already slightly, it turned out that the spiral had slipped out, and I said goodbye to it permanently, no answer from my information, my body got rid of the foreign body. I'm not going to try the second one right away, because the pain, as it accompanied the insertion and excretion 🙈, is not worth this mental comfort.
What precautions do I need to take with sex toys with an insert?
With all due respect to Mrs. Katarzyna Domagala, I relied on the opinion of the doctors, which is why subsequent doctors cut off my breast. Do you have both breasts of Mrs. Domagala?
I also had fibroids and bleeding. The IUD caused depression, unfounded fears, crying, and the like. Very soon after putting it on, I noticed that it was pulling in my nipple. Within a few months, it turned out to be cancer. The mastectomy and other events continue the story. I don't recommend it.
I had the Mirena IUD, I felt terrible after it, and worst of all, after three months of putting it on, I noticed that my nipple had sucked in. It happened quickly.
It turned out to be cancer. I didn't miss a mastectomy. I don't recommend it.
I am 45 years old and have fibroids that cause heavy bleeding during menstruation. For 4 years I had Kylene did great - the period was a small 2 pumpkin spotting. After 4 years, the amount of secreted hormone in the IUD decreases and menstruation began to be abundant again. That's why the doctor took out Kylena and put Morena, because it has more hormone and protects against excessive bleeding for 5 years and protects against anti. gives for 6 years. We'll see what happens...
Hey. I have an insole for 20 days and so far it is ok. I'm worried that I can't sleep. I've been bleeding for 14 days and at that point I'm spotting. It's hard to say because this is my first MIRENA insert.
