These drugs can be combined with certain precautions.
Daivobet is topical and when used on intact skin, its absorption into the blood is minimal, therefore it does not significantly affect methotrexate therapy. Caution should be exercised when used on large areas of skin, damaged skin or under dressings, as then the absorption of active substances and the risk of systemic effects may increase.
In standard topical treatment of psoriasis, such a combination is considered safe.
If the gel is used on a large area of the body or on damaged skin, then there is a risk of side effects of methotrexate, especially a decrease in the number of white, red and platelet blood cells, liver and kidney damage. However, because the drug is applied topically to the skin, the risk of this type of side effects is low.
