Yes, Iberogast can be used for stomach irritation. This is even one of the main indications for the use of this drug. Iberogast is an herbal product that works in many directions. Here's how it helps with an upset stomach:
* Anti-inflammatory effect: The extracts contained in it (m.in. from bitter dressing, chamomile and licorice) help to calm inflammation of the mucous membrane.
* Acidity Regulation: Helps inhibit excessive gastric juice secretion, which protects irritated stomach walls.
* Diastolic effect: Relieves pain and the feeling of tension in the upper abdomen.
* Protection: Exhibits antioxidant properties, which supports mucosal regeneration.
It is worth remembering that Iberogast contains ethanol (approx. 31% vol.). Although a single dose is very small (about 20 drops), people with very strong, acute gastritis or alcoholic disease should be careful, as alcohol can theoretically additionally irritate the very sensitive mucosa. In this case, it is worth dissolving the drops in warm water, which will help to partially evaporate the alcohol.
If you do not feel any improvement after 7 days of taking this medicine or your symptoms get worse, talk to your doctor.
