Can I start treatment Mounjaro from a higher dose than 2.5 mg?

Initiating treatment with a dose higher than 2.5 mg is not recommended due to an increased risk of gastrointestinal adverse reactions, m.in. nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting). Mounjaro is a prescription drug, its dosage and legitimacy of use are decided by the doctor. Follow your doctor's instructions and do not increase the dosage on your own.

Dosage recommended by the manufacturer:

"The initial dose of tirzepatide is 2.5 mg once a week. After 4 weeks, the dose should be increased to 5 mg once a week. After at least 4 weeks of treatment, the dose may be increased in increments of 2.5 mg with the current dose, if necessary. The recommended maintenance doses are 5 mg, 10 mg, and 15 mg. The maximum dose is 15 mg once a week."
