Yes, switching from Hayrimoz to Yuflyma is possible because both preparations are biosimilars containing the same active substance – adalimumab. Both medicines contain the same active substance, but different excipients. Attention should be paid to the risk of possible hypersensitivity at the injection site if such situations have occurred in the past.
From a medical point of view, both drugs have the same therapeutic effect, a similar safety profile and the same dose of the active substance (40 mg). The decision to change the preparation is usually made by the attending physician.
The standard maintenance dosage for most indications (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis or ankylosing spondylitis) is 40 mg given every other week as a single subcutaneous injection.
In certain clinical situations, e.g. if there is an inadequate response to treatment or in specific conditions such as purulent sweat gland inflammation (HS), your doctor may recommend increasing the frequency to 40 mg every week.
The medicine should always be administered according to an individual schedule set by a specialist. Do not shorten or lengthen the dose intervals on your own.
