Hello! Can I combine Dhea supplement with metipred? There is a systemic disease and I have to take corticosteroids, because of them there is very low testosterone and DHEA. The doctor does not know whether it is possible to combine.

Yes, if there is a need, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) can be used when using methylprednisolone (Metypred).
Systemic glucocorticoids, such as metypred, inhibit the secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) by the pituitary gland. This causes atrophy of the adrenal cortex and a decrease in DHEA synthesis. Therefore, in the case of chronic use of glucocorticoids, DHEA supplementation can be considered using preparations containing it.
