Although the manufacturer states that "there are no pharmacokinetic data with regard to the oral use of octenidine dihydrochloride in humans", it informs that "Based on preclinical studies, it is assumed that the active substance shows minimal systemic absorption in the gastrointestinal tract."

This means that the medicine is mainly local (in the mouth); is absorbed into the general circulation to a small extent and the possible risk of interaction with other medicines (such as Xarelto) is negligible.

So you can use Octeangin as prescribed by your doctor (it is a prescription drug, so it must always be used as directed by your doctor).
