St. John's wort extract contains hyperforin, which affects the activity of liver enzymes, causing a weakening of the action of many medicinal substances (including amlodipine, which is a component of Dipperam). Patients taking medication on a regular basis should not take tablets and tinctures containing St. John's wort extracts due to the risk of reducing the effectiveness of the treatment. It is allowed to use an aqueous infusion of St. John's wort, which has a diastolic and choleretic effect (does not contain hyperforin).
