Can Cyclaid and Claritine be consumed together?

The use of Cyclaid (ciclosporin) and Claritine (loratadine) at the same time requires caution and close consultation with the treating physician.

Cyclaid is a drug with a narrow therapeutic index, which means that even small changes in its concentration in the blood can be toxic or weaken the effect of the transplant/therapy. There is a risk that Claritine may affect the metabolism of cyclosporine by raising its levels in the body, which increases the risk of kidney damage or hypertension. Regular monitoring of blood levels of ciclosporin and renal function (creatinine) is usually recommended in these cases.
