Nitroxolin is a drug indicated for the short-term treatment of acute and recurrent lower urinary tract infections with nitroxoline-sensitive microorganisms (in adult patients).
Lack of effectiveness of treatment may indicate another source of the problem or infection with microorganisms resistant to this medicinal substance. Additional tests (e.g. culture with an antibiogram) are indicated to determine the optimal treatment.
