Is Warfin a good drug?

It is difficult to assess whether a given drug is "good" or "bad". Specific medicinal substances are used in specific medical cases, after analysing the balance of benefits against potential problems resulting from the treatment used. Taking all anticoagulants may be associated with side effects, which does not mean that every patient will experience them. Complications of untreated thrombotic disease can cause the occurrence of serious diseases (often fatal), e.g. heart attack, pulmonary embolism, stroke. Any doubts about the prescribed treatment should be discussed with your doctor.

Indications for Warfin:

 Treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.

 Secondary prevention of myocardial infarction and prevention of complications
thromboembolism (stroke or peripheral circulation embolism) after a myocardial infarction cardiac disease.

 Prevention of thromboembolic complications (stroke or peripheral embolism) in patients with atrial fibrillation, valve pathology or after heart valve prosthesis.
