Like any medicine, Gabapentin can also cause gastrointestinal ailments (e.g. nausea, abdominal pain, indigestion). To avoid stomach irritation, take the drug with or just after food and drink enough water. The capsule should be swallowed whole. If inflammation of the stomach occurs during treatment (manifested by e.g. pain, reflux, etc.), then the use of protective drugs such as pantoprazole, for example, may be considered. You can also take a preparation that protects the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract (e.g. Gastrotuss syrup), but then you should keep min. 2 hours between medications.
