Yes, both preparations can be used, but usually there is no need to do so and it does not significantly increase the effectiveness of contraception in the case of a properly used ring. Ginoring is an effective method of hormonal contraception and does not require additional spermicides such as Contragel. If an additional method of contraception is needed, it is recommended to use a male condom rather than vaginal agents together with Ginoring.
