Can beta hcg levels fluctuate by 1 ? Recently I had 0.5 and now the result showed 1.2. Can the body cause such fluctuations on its own? I will only add that I have to be careful not to get pregnant for the next 6 months

The level of beta HCG may vary slightly depending on: the laboratory that performed the tests, the time of day, the phase of the cycle, etc. Values below 5 mean no pregnancy, and small differences between the results are not diagnostically significant. In the case of pregnancy, the concentration of the hormone increases rapidly and the differences between subsequent results may vary by the scale of size. In the situation described, the best solution will be to use hormonal contraception (if possible), which is the most effective of all contraceptive methods.
