Good morning
I am taking Mirzaten 30 mg on a regular basis, today the doctor gave me Elicea for the day. Is it safe to use both at the same time because I read that they interact?

At the outset, it should be noted that the drugs mentioned in the question: Mirzaten (mirtazapine) and Elicea (escitalopram) are prescription, so the legitimacy and need to combine them in therapy should be determined by a doctor. This combination of drugs can be used, but you should strictly follow your doctor's instructions and observe your body's reactions.
Combining Mirzaten with Elicea may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome because both drugs affect serotonin levels in the brain. Serotonin syndrome is a serious condition that manifests itself, m.in, fever, seizures, and anxiety. However, it is relatively rare, in recent years a decrease in the incidence of serotonin syndrome has been observed to about 0.02% among people using neuroleptics, which is the result of better control and awareness of the use of serotonergic drugs.
For this reason, it is recommended to avoid such a combination without close consultation with a doctor, who should monitor the patient for possible symptoms. In case of any alarming symptoms, you should contact a doctor immediately.
If you have doubts about this situation, it is always worth consulting a doctor who can provide more personalized advice. If you are not able to make a face-to-face visit, I attach a link to the online teleconsultation:
